I got a response from [log in to unmask]

"It is a legitimate notification, but we certainly understand the concern. /L"

I had an exchange about this very issue late last year with Rob McCurdy,
our CIO, in response to an e-mail that he sent out himself. He says
that "Putting links in our emails doesn't conflict with the education
for users not to blindly click them", and "What I have seen help the
most is education and link protection. Both of which we are running full
speed ahead on."

Apparently, the key word now is "blindly", so our message to users is
that it's OK to click on links in e-mails now as long as they do not do
so "blindly". Unfortunately, I never got the memo, so I still need to
chat with Rob more about this. Did anyone else get the memo? Perhaps
he could meet with us all and set us straight.

(Hmm, wish I had just thought of forwarding his link-containing e-mail
to abuse, that's a good maneuver.)
