Unless I'm missing something, there's no official (Red Hat provided) PHP7 package for system-wide use on Red Hat 7. There's an RHSCL package. With some tweaking, I can make it run side-by-side with PHP 5.4 (the latest official package), but I'd like to not have to depend on RHSCL. Also, my subscription-manager doesn't see the RHSCL repository. That's a separate issue and not the primary reason for this message.

Frameworks, modules and the like are starting to require PHP 7. It seems mature enough as there are three maintained version chains, although 7.2 doesn't appear to be fully ready yet. I'd like to get PHP 7.1 installed system-wide (not side-by-side) and further maintained by an official (Red Hat provided) means. I'm seeing some alternative repositories with PHP7 packages, but I'd like to not depend on those.

Am I missing something? Is anybody else trying to make a standardized build around PHP 7 and Red Hat 7? How has this been tackled?

If it makes a difference, I'm also using php-fpm between apache and php.

Thanks,
