MSU Infrastructure Planning and Facilities Telecommunication Systems (MSU Telecom) will host their MSU Telecom Technology Workshop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 12 at The Henry Center for Executive Development<http://maps.msu.edu/interactive/index.php?location=IXD1>. The workshop is designed to help attendees explore their communication methods and will teach them to better utilize the communications platforms that they already own. This is a free workshop for the MSU community and includes lunch and refreshments.

Presentation and demo topics will include:

  *   New phones, wireless devices and radios
  *   Emergency preparedness, disaster recovery and business continuity
  *   Call-recording applications
  *   Next generation messaging, including texting (SMS) and picture messaging
  *   Mobility solutions such as softphones for Android, iOS, iPads, etc.
  *   Video delivery services
  *   Billing questions
  *   Contact center
     *   Multimedia contact center (voice, e-mail, chat, SMS)
     *   Service observing for training and quality assurance
     *   Remote agent, teleworking and CTI solutions
     *   Contact-center reporting - best practices
