Sometimes respondents to MSUNAG discussion threads include the entire thread history, sometimes they do not. Including the entire history helps when a later reader needs to see (and perhaps respond to) the fuller context, OTOH it gets in the way for other readers. Of course, one may always go on the web to the MSUNAG archive at http://list.msu.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A0=MSUNAG and look up past thread entries, but that can present a bit of a barrier. MSUNAG messages already include links to List-Archive, etc. How about if messages also included a link directly to the message in the archive? Google Groups does something like this for one of the professional Groups that I participate in, makes it real easy to go back to the full thread. Of course this will not work quite as well for extended threads on the MSUNAG archive because it splits up each thread by month instead of maintaining each thread as a whole, but it would still be an improvement.
