Dak, I'd suggest you take a look at Atlassian JIRA. While it's often slanted towards a software development team, I believe it would do everything that you want it to do. I've answered the questions inline below: · SharePoint = Nope, but come on what are you going to do with all of that extra time? :) · Basic Business Intelligence = some very nice ways to see project progress · Ability to view other users tasks and progress = absolutely · Task delegation = absolutely · Sub tasks = it has this one too · Would prefer if there were a mobile solution = There was an iPhone JIRA app that I was using before to connect. I think they have a mobile interface now as well · VERY STRONGLY prefer AD integration = They provide directions on how to do this at http://goo.gl/fNQrK · Clean, easy to use, intuitive interface = In my opinion this is a yes · Ability to create projects, with tasks in that project. But also to have stand alone tasks, not in a project. *requirement* = you can absolutely do the projects and tasks, but I don't see a way to do just tasks without assigning them to a project. As a concession perhaps you could create a generic project, such as "Dak's Honey Do List" and attach tasks that you'd consider stand-alone to that project. · VERY STRONGLY prefer an in house solution over hosted = it can be used either way. I'm hosting it internally for myself. It's a Java app and I've found the minimum RAM to allocate is 1GB, at 2GB would be better. I have some Java environment variables I've sent to try and optimize this and would be happy to share these with you. Just a few more points. Atlassian stuff can be pricy. However they have a "10 users for $10" entry price that should fit pretty much any budget. You can also define custom workflows within JIRA, so maybe someone can create a new task but it has to go to you first before it's added to this project or you set the severity or due date or etc. I have it running and if you'd like to see it in action without having to setup your own shoot me a message offline. I also have no idea why this paragraph is formatted like this, it seems to be a result of the formatting of your message, so I'm not sure how you've infected me buddy. :) Troy Murray Michigan State University College of Medicine Life Science 1355 Bogue St, B-136D East Lansing, MI 48824 E: [log in to unmask] P: 517-432-2760 F: 517-355-7254 CompTIA Security+ certified RedHat 5 Certified Technician RedHat 5 Certified Systems Administrator HL7 V2.6/2.5 Certified Control Specialist On Mar 27, 2013, at 7:24 AM, "Aldrich, Dakharai" <[log in to unmask]> wrote: > Ok. We are willing to pay for a solution, but we really would like to keep this as low cost as possible.
