Is there a clear statement, a permanent URL, a Techbase article, that one could read on this?

Our NetID Privilege Categories http://techbase.msu.edu/article.asp?id=609 is the ruling information. In the case of Retirees, the term is referring to those who are fully vested for benefits. Anyone who leaves employment in any other manner is "separated from service".

"Separated from the University" is ambiguous.  I have been retired from MSU for more than a year. Do you consider me "separated"? My MSU NetID of [log in to unmask] is mine as a matter of right.

It is established law that an employer's assigned email account/address (assigned or provided to the employee) is the employer's property.
