Folks,
Here is a bit more information we can share with y'all.

From my own personal testing of setting a "Password recovery by email"
found under Personal Settings | Security | Recovering your password - it
appears you can EDIT this to be [log in to unmask] and not create a
conflict (don't add an email). However, if you "Add an alternate email
address", found under Personal Setting | Email addresses - entering
[log in to unmask] there will be disallowed.

If someone gets a conflicting account message or message indicating that
their secondary email was removed, or that they're already logged in as
[log in to unmask] then they have some sort of personal
Google account.

Multiple log-in that I mentioned earlier as a not-recommended option -
is also not advised because it can mess up offline sync of your
personal Gmail if you use that feature. We also wonder about a negative
effect on Android sync. You have to turn multiple log-in on for every
Google account you want to use multiple log-in feature with.

We'll update the FAQ and conflict articles when we're a little more
certain of some of this. /L
