I really do! Here is something I've not seen before. I wonder if
others have experienced this little treat:

One of my users came to me the other day saying that his XP
Dell was freezing. Once it did that he had to reboot, often having
the raid system check things which was time consuming. Over
the last few days the crashes have become more common.

When I looked at it today, the mouse was active, so quite a
bit of Windows is still operational. The tray at the bottom was
gone though, so I didn't have a way to run anything till I remembered
the task manager. I could run programs via the run program
box, so got the DOS shell up, and finally spysweeper and have
started a scan.

This is also starting to happen on the users home Dell, identical
to the one in his office. At first I wondered about hardware, but
seeing the cursor move and programs run, it isn't that.

Given that I have two of these, owned by the same person, I
am thinking that lovely concept, namely a virus of some sort.

Has anyone seen this kind of behavior before? I'd hate to
scrub the machine only to have it be hardware, etc.
