The non-standard DPI is (99%) causing your issue – there’s not a really good way of compensating for nonstandard DPI in web design AFAIK.

Yes.  Dell Optiplex 745, with a Dell 24" monitor.  Resolution 1900x1200.  I have my dpi setting at 125 percent of normal size.  (This is with Windows XP.)

I need to use large fonts if I'm to work more than an hour a day.   That's why I often remove html from peoples' e-mail messages before replying.   I sometimes like to be able to read what they say.
