Passing this along, in case you know someone who is interested --- begin forward --- Here is a description of what the job entails. I am looking for some serious candidates that have good computing skills and can adapt quickly. Depending on the candidate and their maturity I could entertain working off site (on other projects), but initially I will need candidates willing to sit in a cubical downtown Lansing between the hours of 8 - 5 M-F for this project. I need to fill 1 FTE position so a couple part time candidates would also work at a minimum of 20 hrs/week. For a part-time commitment and depending on the qualifications, the position(s) would pay $20-25/hour, no benefits. If someone has a family and would like benefits while still being part-time, I could provide them at a group rate and reduce their take home pay. If there is a full time candidate, the salary would include benefits with no reduction of pay. ******************** Project: Expansion of the State of Michigan's MCIR (Michigan Care Improvement Registry http://mcir.org <http://mcir.org> ) application for the Department of Community Health. This project is to implement a CDC (Center of Disease Control) requirement as part of its VMBIP (Vaccine Management Business Improvement Project http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/programs/vmbip/default.htm <http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/programs/vmbip/default.htm> ), which will enable the registry to allow VFC (Vaccine Funds for Children) providers to order vaccine directly from CDC through an e-ordering process. The system is a J2EE/Oracle application and requires skills in Java 1.5, ANT, Wicket MVC framework, HTML, and SQL. This project is expected to last until June 2008. ******************** After this there is the possibility to help expand the registry's capabilty to prepare it for integration into the MiHIN (Michigan Health Information Network) as part of an ongoing effort toward moving Michigan into a statewide Health Information Exchange (HIE). These capabilities will require knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), web services, and HL7 (www.hl7.org <http://www.hl7.org> ). This external interface to the HIE partners will also be coupled with an internal integration of the State's child health data for better health screening and disease prevention/treatment in an overall effort to provide the citizen's of Michigan better access to healthcare and reduced health care costs. Please have any interested candidates email ([log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]> ) with a written paragraph of why they might be interested in the position and when they can start. Also, please have them attach a resume. Thanks again for your help.
