The first extension was until Jan. 1, 2007, then July 1, 2007, and now to Jan. 30, 2008. But this is just the motherboard, not other components (i.e. the power supplies that fail just as regularly). So, as I hinted at in my first message, the motherboards have had their coverage extended to the current time. I doubt that they will extend them again as the computers will then have been in service almost 5 years, but I have been wrong before. +-------------------------------------------+ | Michael Surato | | College of Arts and Letters | | Michigan State University | | 320 Linton Hall | | East Lansing, MI 48824 | | Voice: (517) 353-0778 Fax: (517) 355-0159 | +-------------------------------------------+ -----Original Message----- From: MSU Network Administrators Group [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Stephan Andre' Sent: Thursday, September 27, 2007 12:04 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: [MSUNAG] Solder / Desolder tools On Thursday 27 September 2007 11:12:13 Michael S. As I understood it, the agreement was 'till Janurary 30th 2008. Is that incorrect? As an aside, have people at MSU encountered that problem? My spy inside Dell said that about 9 - 11% of those machines developed problems because of the capacitor debacle. None of my 270ish seems have ever had problems, but a friend who ordered several elsewhere had gobs of problems. --STeve Andre' Political Science
