A clarification:

Some members of the community seem to believe that if they don't
change their passwords by September 26, they can come in on September
27 and be prompted to make the change.

That isn't how things will unfold. If you don't change your password
by close of business on the 26th, on the morning of the 27th the
Kerberos 5 switchover will be completed, and your old password won't
work. You will have to use your PID and PAN to reset your password.
Until you reset the password, you are locked out of all systems that
use MSU NetID for authentication -- ANGEL, mail.msu.edu, HR system,
etc., etc.

Please send me a personal message if you are encountering this
misperception among your users -- trying to gauge things.

Again, if you've changed your password since May 11, you have a
triple-DES-encrypted "strong" password and you are all set.
