The attached mailing will go out soon to those who have not yet changed the 
password associated with their MSU NetIDs. 
 We're getting questions from some folks who wonder if they need to change 
their password if it already complied with strong password rules. The answer 
is yes. Anyone who hasn't changed their password since May 11, 2005 needs to 
do so.
 Please urge your ffaculty, staff, and students to change their passwords if 
they have not done so. In particular, please be sure they understand that 
they must change BEFORE the end of the business day on the 26th.

Subject: Your MSU NetID: (insert MSU netid here) must be changed or you will 
be locked out of Email, Angel, StuInfo, HR and other systems on campus.

An upgrade of our authentication system requires you to change the password 
for MSU NetID (insert MSU netid here) that is currently forwarding mail to: 
(insert id here). 

The password must be changed before September 27, 2005 in order to avoid 
being locked out of vital online resources such as ANGEL, StuInfo, 
mail.msu.edu <http://mail.msu.edu>, the Human Resources system, and a wide 
variety of online academic and administrative services.

The new password must be changed to one that supports "strong password 
rules".

Your new MSU NetID password must be at least 8 characters long and contain:
* at least one upper case letter
* at least one lower case letter
* at least one numeric character

To change your NetID password you will need to go to
https://netid.msu.eduand select "Change password". If you received
this e-mail you must reset
your password even if it meets the new rules.
