US-CERT has issued Technical Cyber Security Alert TA05-224A entitled "VERITAS Backup Exec Uses Hard-Coded Authentication Credentials."
CERT reports that there are known exploits to this vulerability. MSU is now blocking traffic into the campus on TCP port 10000, which is used by this service, in order to prevent attacks from off campus.
