This does work quite well; and so far with a higher success rate than spybot or Adaware. Just a note, if you do use the Adaware and spybot programs, for best results running it while windows is in safe mode will allow processes to be removed that you won't be able to remove if you're just running windows normally. Another thing to take a look at if your interested is Blocklist registry key, you can read about it here: http://www.spywareguide.com/blockfile.php and the related Microsoft article can be found here: http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q240/7/97.asp Kevin Floyd Health Information Technology ----- Original Message ----- From: "Willson, Jim" <[log in to unmask]> To: <[log in to unmask]> Sent: Friday, January 14, 2005 12:19 PM Subject: Re: [MSUNAG] MSU Anti Spyware Tool beta We installed and ran it on a few machines this morning, and preliminary results show that it works quite well. It has three parts to it: 1. Spyware Scanner / Removal Tool - Removes existing spyware 2. Agent - Stops Spyware from installing 3. System Configuration Function - See what programs are running on your computer, and upon startup. I found out about it here. http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx I used it on an associates computer and it removed 4 spyware that were undetectable to spybot SD.
