Almost all errors like this are related to some misconfiguration of DNS.  Make sure the second domain controller is pointed at your working domain controller for DNS resolution.  I have had success in the past running ipconfig /flushdns from command line, and then run ipconfig /registerdns to flush all dns records and reregister the server with your DNS server.

Hi all,
I have a Windows 2000 advanced server as my main data server. I have also built another Windows 2000 advanced server to act as a backup server. However, when I try to have it as an additional domain controller, it gives me error messages saying that the domain does not exist or cannot be contacted. I am sure that the machine is already a part of the domain and the DNS is also running.
Is there something I am missing?
