> Is there any way to disable fowarding of the old @pilot.msu.edu addresses to > the new @msu.edu addresses? I think 95% of the spam I get comes via my @pilot > address. The names "pilot.msu.edu" and "msu.edu" are equivalent, in that they are both system-wide mail names which are directed to "mail.msu.edu". So there is no per-user forwarding, per se, of "[log in to unmask]" that is different from "[log in to unmask]". I haven't tried this specifically, but I have tried similar things, so I believe you can do what you want through judicious use of the mail filtering on mail.msu.edu. Go to the "mail.msu.edu" web site, login, and go to "Filters". You will need to create two filter rules. The first one would use the condition "Addressed to" "[log in to unmask]", and an action of "Reject with error". The second rule would use the condition Message is "larger than" "1" bytes, and an action of either: "Save in" "INBOX" (or desired folder), or "Forward to" "(your external e-mail address)". Don't forget to "Submit" each filter rule as you create or edit it, and then do "Save all changes" when the filters are complete and in the correct order. Note: If you are currently forwarding your mail from mail.msu.edu to another mail address, you will need to disable your forwarding address under the "Preferences" screen, in order to allow the messages to pass through the "Filters" processing.
