We have had similar problems with our installation point for Office 2000. The person who maintains it is out today, so I can't ask him about its current status. I recall when he was working on this a couple of years ago that he found some information from Microsoft explaining the problem, and indicating that even though it had been updated to SP2, it would continue to report that it was SP1. The problems we had with SP2 kind of discouraged us from messing with updates after that, which is an unfortunate situation. We also have an installation point for Office XP, and I don't think we've had the same problems with it, but I'm not sure. I'll try to find out when Brian gets back.
