I don't know about this source, I haven't looked into it, but we have
switched from Verisign to Comodo Security Group.  If you need one issued, we
have authority to issue for all msu domains and can issue them for you.
They aren't free, but they are much cheaper than Verisign ($119 for one year
I believe).  Let me know if you need to get one.

I've used Thawte in the past for our two certificates, which are now up for
renewal.  I'm going to look into this, 2 years for free is really good!

According to their web sight, .edu customers can get 2 year certificates
free of charge.

We have to renew a couple of our VeriSign certificates here shortly and
their price has jumped quite a bit so I am looking at alternatives.
