In the
Library we use Lib and the last four digits (zero filled) of the IP
address.
eg.
35.8.221.134 Lib1134
35.8.221.64 Lib1064
These
go into the IP database, with user and location. Ideally people will let us
know when they move. :-)
I was just wondering if anybody has come up with a
good scheme to name computers?
Naming them after the "owner" doesn't
work out too well - that changes too often.
Naming them after the location
also doesn't work too well - too much moving.
Any
suggestions?
