I completely agree. For inventing the Windows Installer and the MSI packaging model, they're really doing their clients a disservice by pretty much leaving them in the dirt if they only use the built-in tools included with Windows.

Personally I was very disappointed that Microsoft changed the way the Office 2007 installation could be deployed, not easy to do through the GPO. Felt like they were just using it as a catalyst to push their SMS or other products like that.
