Interesting, my experience was the complete opposite. I took my wife's
MacBook in to get the hard drive replaced and since it was under AppleCare I
didn't pay a cent. The turnaround time was only two or three days too.
I have also sent MacBooks for warranty covered repairs straight to Apple and
it has taken about a week to get it back.
