On September 29, 2006, Academic Computing & Network Services (formerly
MSU Computer Laboratory) will celebrate 50 years of computing at
Michigan State University. Tour the MSU Computer Center and see
exhibits showcasing MSU's rich computing history. Visit the room where
MSU's first computer, MISTIC (Michigan State Integral Computer), was
constructed and served the early computing needs of researchers in
numerous departments.Learn how the original mainframe-based systems
paved the way for today's vast computer networks.
At 2 p.m. in room 402 of the Computer Center, we welcome you to
participate in a panel discussion with MSU computing pioneers. The MSU
Museum will also be hosting an exhibit on 50 years of computing.
