I apologize if the extremely long links get cut off because of forwarding, but the series of articles quoted from CNET news seem to indicate some progress at the DC US Court of Appeals. Even some FCC officials are on record as saying the CALEA ruling by the FCC was on "shaky legal ground" to begin with. FYI
