On Saturday, April 24 we learned of a situation that compromised the
passwords for the MSU NetIDs of a number of users. This morning, Monday,
April 26, we are mailing the attached memo to all affected users. The memo
urges users to change their passwords immediately. Due to the nature of the
compromise, the window for password changes lasts from 6:00 a.m. until 1:00
p.m. At 1:00 p.m., any affected users who have not changed their passwords
will have their passwords disabled.
Tom Davis, Director of Academic Computing and Network Services, is also
sending an e-mail about this situation to deans, directors, and chairs.
