Hello!

The Pandemic Response and Safety Grants Portal (https://usda-prs.grantsolutions.gov/usda) is open and accepting applications! While it is listed as a grant, it is a much easier application, the first page of the application is business/farm/farmers market information and the second page is Appendix B attached above. Invoices/receipts are not required to submit the grant but there will be spot checking as the applications are approved. That is the entire application that is completed online in the portal above.

The grant is great for reimbursing costs that were incurred (or will be incurred) as a result of COVID in the categories below between January 27 and December 31, 2021. Other grant funding that was used for purchasing items or services may not be requested for reimbursement (CFAP funding or other grants). You can request between $1,500 and $20,000!

The categories covered in the grant are:
Workplace Safety: Implementing workplace safety measures to protect against COVID-19
Market Pivots: Implementing market pivots to protect against COVID–19
Retrofitting Facilities: Retrofitting facilities for worker and consumer safety to protect against COVID–19
Transportation: Providing additional transportation options to maintain social distancing and worker and consumer safety to protect against COVID-19
Worker Housing: Providing worker housing that protects workers against COVID-19
Medical: Providing health services to protect workers against COVID-19

Applications are due November 22 by 11:59pm EST!! We have heard from USDA that they have received fewer applications than they expected. Also, this is a non-compete grant- all valid applications will be funded.

For questions about the program, give us a call 517-709-8271 or email [log in to unmask] We are available to talk through the categories and help with the process; we are all here to provide assistance as needed.

Please pass along to any farmer, farm market or small business that would benefit from the grant- there is a lot of funding available!

Thanks,
John
