WHO IS THIS EVENT FOR?

Are you working on a paper about gender and broader issues of diversity and inclusion in international business (IB)? Could you use some help developing it? WAIB is here for you! Please submit to WAIB’s 3rd annual Paper Coaching Workshop at AIB 2025 Louisville. IB researchers are increasingly focusing on a variety research topics, but much of this research is still at an earlier stage of development. The ultimate goal of this session is to develop strong research within IB, improving this area of research for the future.

WHAT RESEARCH TOPIC WOULD FIT THIS EVENT?

Papers can address any aspect of gender and broader issues of diversity and inclusion. These aspects encompass a wide range of factors, including but not limited to race, disability, age, sexual orientation, cultural diversity, language barriers, socioeconomic disparities, religious practices, and regional differences in the context of international business and multinational firms, taking into account the nuances and variations between home and host countries.

HOW WILL THIS WORKSHOP BE STRUCTURED?

The session will be structured to provide extensive feedback to authors whose papers have been accepted. Groups of 2-3 authors (with substantively related papers) will be paired with coaches, whereby each individual paper will receive detailed feedback for revision and improvement. The main focus will be on how to improve the papers discussed, so as to increase the probability of acceptance by an IB journal. Furthermore, a panel session led by prominent scholars will share general experience in conducting research on related topics and tips on publishing the papers in journals.

HOW CAN I SUBMIT A PAPER?

Please submit your extended abstract (max. 5 pages, single-spaced; tables/figures/references are excluded for the page limits) by 1 March 2025 using our online submission form. Accepted authors will be notified by 15 March and asked to confirm their ability to attend the workshop as well as their current WAIB membership status. Workshop participants will also be asked to submit their full papers by 1 June 2025.

Please address any questions to Stephanie Wang ([log in to unmask]), Director of Research of WAIB, Indiana University.
