You are expected to ...
* contribute to fulfilling the goals of the "Headquarters in Austria" project as an operational project leader
* complement and strengthen the existing research foci of the Institute for International Business (Team Nell)
* publish in top tier journals in line with the Department's list of leading international journals.
* participate actively in international conferences and present and discuss research with scholars around the world.
* collaborate on existing research projects, for example projects on headquarters-subsidiary relationships, parenting strategies and structures, or international headquarters relocations. Some of the projects are conducted with corporate partners and organizations.
Note that the position is limited to three years.
The successful applicant ...
1. has a PhD (or equivalent) in Business, Economics or a related field. Candidates can be in the last phase of their PhD, have recently finished their PhD, or already have some experience as post-docs/Assistant Profs.
2. should have a clear research agenda
3. possesses a proven interest in research related to Prof. Nell's team, specifically the topics mentioned above
4. possesses strong methodological skills (primarily quantitative)
5. shows strong potential to become a leading scholar in the field
6. possesses strong communication skills in English, which allows him/her to communicate effectively with academic as well as with non-academic stakeholders such as practitioners and policy makers
7. has some practical experience outside the university context e.g. working for consulting firms, multinationals, or startups
8. German language skills are a plus.
