WHO IS THIS EVENT FOR?
This workshop aims to benefit AIB members with an interest in research on emerging markets, especially those who wish to discuss, exchange ideas, and find potential solutions to the challenges they encounter when conducting research on emerging markets. The workshop also aims to assist those who have a draft paper and would like to receive constructive feedback from other researchers to improve work.
Please note that although this workshop is open to all scholars interested in emerging markets, space is limited. Priority will be given to scholars residing in emerging markets.


HOW CAN I SUBMIT A PAPER?
To be considered for this PDW, we invite authors to submit an extended abstract (max. 5 pages; 12 point font, 1.5 spacing) by emailing [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>. When submitting the abstract, please state “EM-SIG PDW Seoul” in the subject line.
The submission deadline for the extended abstract is 15 April 2024 in the author’s time zone (or until places are filled).


WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY EXTENDED ABSTRACT IS ACCEPTED?
Submitting authors will be notified of the outcomes of the review process by 1 May 2024. We request that the author confirm their attendance within one week of their acceptance notification.   If the author fails to confirm their participation, the opportunity to attend the PDW will be offered to someone else.
Please note that the PDW participating author will need to register for the AIB Seoul Conference<https://www.aib.world/events/2024/attend/registration/?utm_source=AIB+Members&utm_campaign=1e73c200cf-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_06_04_07_16_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_51d7bf593e-1e73c200cf-> by 15 May 2024 in order to participate in this in-person Pre-Conference PDW.


WHO ARE THE PARTICIPATING JOURNAL EDITORS IN THIS WORKSHOP?
We are privileged to offer mentoring by editors of a range of journals that are particularly interested in contributions from emerging markets, in particular International Journal of Emerging Markets, Journal of Business Management, Journal of Comparative International Management and Cross-Cultural and Strategic Management. Various board members of the EM-SIG will also be involved.
Some of the names who have confirmed that they will be mentoring are: Helena Barnard, Kristin Brandl, Maoliang Bu, Jorge Carneiro, Asda Chintakananda, Elie Chrysostome, Ziliang Deng, Maria Alejandra Gonzalez-Perez, Bersant Hobdari, Jane Lu and Tian Wei
