PANELISTS

Alvaro Cuervo-Cazurra (Ph.D. MIT) is the CEM Professor of Global Sustainability at Northeastern University. He is a global strategy scholar interested in understanding how context affects value creation, especially in emerging markets. His main research interest is global strategic management, in which he analyzes how institutions influence internationalization and firm performance. His secondary line is global sustainable governance, in which he studies how ownership and incentives influence sustainability and societal value. Wenjie Liu is an Assistant Professor of Management at City University of Hong Kong. His research interests span the areas of nonmarket strategy, global strategy, sustainability, and political economy, especially regarding the governance of sustainable business in emerging markets. His research has been accepted for publication in Journal of International Business Studies and Journal of Management. Wenjie received his Ph.D. from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. He has held a visiting appointment at Columbia Business School.

Christian Geisler Asmussen received his PhD from Copenhagen Business School in 2007 and is currently a Professor of Strategic and International Management at the Department of Strategy and Innovation. Drawing on formal modelling, game theory, and theories of the firm, his research revolves around competitive advantage, globalization, and the organization of multinational companies. His current research interests include foreign location choices and global corporate social responsibility. His work has been awarded numerous prizes from the Danish and international research communities, including the Barry M. Richman best dissertation award, the Haynes Prize, the Tietgen Prize, and the JIBS Decade Award.

MODERATORS

Stephanie Lu Wang is Samuel & Pauline Glaubinger Professor & Associate Chair at the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship, Kelley School of Business, Indiana University. Stephanie’s primary research interests lie at the intersection of internationalization and social/environmental sustainability. She is particularly interested in studying emerging market multinationals and cultural industries as research contexts. Stephanie serves as an Associate Editor for the Global Strategy Journal, an Associate Editor for the Business Horizons, a Special Issue Editor for the Journal of International Business Studies, a Consulting Editor for the Journal of International Management. She is the Research Director of Women in the Academy of International Business (WAIB) and faculty advisor for the Indiana University Chapter of Ascend. Stephanie received her Ph.D. from the University of Miami, a master’s degree from Peking University, and an undergraduate degree from the Renmin University of China.

Klaus Meyer (PhD, London Business School) has been a Professor of International Business at Ivey Business School since 2017. He previously served as professor at China Europe International Business School, University of Bath, University of Reading and Copenhagen Business School, and held various leadership roles at these institutions. His research focuses on the strategies of multinational enterprises (MNEs) in emerging economies. He published over 100 articles in leading scholarly journals and eight books, including the textbook ‘International Business’. He is a Fellow of the Academy of International Business, former area editor of JIBS, and recipient of the JIBS Decade Award.

Jonathan Doh is Senior Associate Dean for Research, Faculty Development, and Global Engagement, Rammrath Chair in International Business, Co-Faculty Director of the Center for Global Leadership (on leave), and Professor of Management at the Villanova School of Business. He teaches and does research at the intersection of international business, strategic management, and corporate sustainability. Previously, he was on the faculty of American and Georgetown Universities and a trade official with the U.S. Government. He is author or co-author of more than 100 refereed articles, 40 chapters, a dozen teaching cases and simulations, and eight books. His articles have appeared in AMR, JBV, JIBS, JOM, JMS, MISQ, OS, and SMJ, among others; his books have been published by Cambridge, Oxford, and Yale University presses; and he is co-author of the best-selling international management text. He was Editor- in-Chief of Journal of World Business from 2014-2018 and General Editor for Journal of Management Studies from 2020-2022. He is currently Editor (Sustainability) at JIBS. He is a fellow of AOM and AIB, and ranked 298 out of 44,945 business scholars globally, placing him among the top .65%. His Ph.D. is from George Washington University.
