Job Title: Seasonal Field Technician/Intern

Location: Brighton MI

Pay Rate: $16-20/hour

Closing Date: March 8, 2024



Description

Nature of Work: Job duties include but are not limited to: invasive species management, wetland delineations, GIS

mapping, wetland and stream restoration, wetland monitoring, mitigation design, permitting, threatened and

endangered species surveys, and equipment repair and maintenance.



Work Schedule: Typical work hours are 40 hours/week Monday – Friday with occasional overtime. Position is

considered temporary with the possibility for permanent employment. The position will require limited travel

within the state, including occasional overnight trips, and some assignments will require physical labor and long

days (tree planting, invasive species management, and prescribed burns).



Required Qualifications:

• A valid Driver’s License

• Possess or willing to obtain MDARD Commercial Pesticide Applicator license

(Categories 5 and 6) upon employment

• Ability to take initiative and work effectively alone or in groups

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions



Preferred Qualifications:

• Pursing a degree in natural resources or equivalent field

• Knowledge of native and non-native flora including common invasive species

• Experience operating power tools

• Experience using Microsoft Office and ArcGIS Pro
