The 2nd Greater Manchester Business School Conference

on

"Organisational Transformation: Theory, Policy, and Practice"

11-12 July 2024 | Greater Manchester, United Kingdom

The two-day event to include a Doctoral Symposium and a full Research Conference with the theme "Organisational Transformation: Theory, Policy, and Practice" at the Greater Manchester Business School, University of Bolton, United Kingdom, is set to be a contemporary conference with an aim to deliver "Shaping for Tomorrow", addressing the urgent need for transformation in the modern organisational landscape. Amidst a backdrop of global competition, digital revolution, and ecological vulnerability, this conference is dedicated to exploring how organisations and their actors can adapt and transform in these dynamic times. A key focus will be on the concept of 'organisation transformation' – emphasising the importance of linking foresight with organisational agility and the need for rapid shifts to achieve sustainable growth while navigating overcomplexity and avoiding unethical practices.

The conference is poised to delve into various dimensions of transformation. These include examining the interaction between theory, policy and purpose within organisations and their role in value creation and distribution. It will explore the decision-making processes that enable or constrain the integration of these elements and strategies for managers to balance personal purpose with external stakeholder expectations. Furthermore, discussions will encompass understanding the impacts of government interventions and regulations on organisational agility in addressing complex challenges, ensuring emerging technologies promote inclusivity rather than inequalities, and integrating ethical considerations into corporate culture and innovation activities.

This conference promises to provide ground-breaking, evidence-based solutions for reshaping organisations from within, making it a pivotal event for those dedicated to redefining organisational excellence in an increasingly complex and volatile world. At the GMBS conference, we delve into several key themes and tracks, each tailored to unravel the complex tapestry of modern organisational challenges. These themes and tracks are designed to foster deep understanding, stimulate innovative thinking, and encourage practical solutions in the area of organisational transformation, theory, policy, and practice.

The research conference will take place at Greater Manchester Business School, University of Bolton, United Kingdom, on Friday, July 12, and the kick-off event of the Doctoral Symposium on Thursday, July 11, 2024.
