PANELISTS
Anthony Goerzen is the Sobey Professor of International Business
at Smith School of Business of Queen’s University. Prior to academia, Anthony Goerzen spent 15 years in management positions in both small firms and MNCs. His research interests relate to the behaviour and performance of MNCs with a focus on location strategy,
cooperative strategies (e.g., JVs, alliances, and networks) as well as social and environmental issue management within the context of global value chains. His research is published in Strategic Management Journal, Journal
of International Business Studies, Journal of Management, Management International Review, Journal of International Management, Asia Pacific Journal of Management, Peking University Business Review, Ivey
Business Journal, Academy of Management Perspectives, and Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship. He was Chair of AIB-Canada from 2017-2023 and was elected Fellow of the Academy of International
Business in 2023. He serves on numerous editorial boards including SMJ, GSJ, JIBS as well as Consulting
Editor of JIBP.
Kaz Asakawa is Professor of Global Innovation Management at Graduate
School of Business Administration, Keio University, Japan. Kaz received his Ph.D. and M.Sc. from INSEAD, France, his MBA from Harvard Business School, and his BA summa cum laude in Political Economy from
Waseda University, Japan. His research interest lies in the areas of global innovation and global R&D management of multinational corporations, cross-border knowledge sourcing and leveraging, subsidiary evolution, and autonomy-control dynamics. His research
appeared in many major scholarly journals including Journal of International Business Studies, Global Strategy Journal, and Journal of World Business. He was elected a Fellow of the Academy of International
Business in 2015. At Keio he was appointed Mitsubishi Chair in 2013. He serves on the AIB Executive Board (as VPP), 2021-2024.
C. Cindy Fan is Vice Provost for International Studies and Global
Engagement at UCLA, and is the first woman and Asian to hold that position. She is also Professor of Geography. Dr. Fan received her BA and MPhil from respectively the University of Hong Kong and Chinese University of Hong Kong and her PhD from the Ohio State
University. Internationally known for her research on migration and split households, gender, and regional development in China, she has numerous publications including the pioneering book China on the Move.
She is formerly co-editor of Regional Studies and Eurasian Geography and Economics. Dr. Fan has delivered numerous keynotes around the world, and has received
the UCLA Distinguished Teaching Award, Distinguished Scholar Awards from the American Association of Geographers, major grants from the Andrew Mellon Foundation, Henry Luce Foundation and National Science Foundation, and an Honorary Doctor of Laws from the
University of Bristol.
MODERATORS
Rosalie L. Tung is the Ming and Stella Wong Professor of International
Business at Simon Fraser University, Canada. She served as President of the Academy of Managemen (2003-2004), President of the Academy of International Business (2015-2016), and Dean of the Fellows of the Academy of International Business (2017-2020). She
is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of International Business Studies. She was formerly a Wisconsin Distinguished Professor with the University of Wisconsin System. She is a Fellow of the Royal
Society of Canada, Academy of Management, Academy of International Business, and British Academy of Management, among others. She received many awards for her research and service to the fields of management and international business, including the 2021 Academy
of Management, International Management Division Eminent Scholar Award, the 2019 Academy of Management (academy-wide) Distinguished Service Award, the 2021 Academy of Management, International Management Division Eminent Scholar Award, and the 2021 John H.
Dunning President’s Award.
Dana Minbaeva is a Professor of Strategic Human Capital at King’s
Business School. King’s College of London, UK. She also has a part-time appointment at Copenhagen Business School, Denmark. Her research on strategic and international HRM has appeared in such top international journals as Academy
of Management Review, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management Studies, Human Resource Management, and many others. Professor Minbaeva published over 70 articles in international
peer reviewed journals, numerous book chapters and reports. She received several national and international awards to research achievements, including the prestigious JIBS Decade Award 2013. Professor Minbaeva is a Fellow of the Academy of International Business
(AIB).
