PANELISTS

Simon Gaechter is Professor of the Psychology of Economic Decision Making. His research interests are in the area of behavioral and experimental economics, organizational economics, labour economics, and game theory. His main research tools are experiments. Currently, his main research interests are on voluntary cooperation in the presence of free rider incentives, and on the interplay of material and psychological incentives in incentive provision. He has published in American Economic Review, Econometrica, Science, Nature, Journal of Economic Perspectives, Journal of Labor Economics, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of the European Economic Association, Management Science, Nature Human Behaviour and Nature Communications. He held a £1.5m European Research Council (ERC) Advanced Investigator grant on the Behavioural Economics of Cooperation (2012-2017). He was recently awarded another ERC Advanced Grant on the Behavioural Principles of Large-Scale Cooperation (2021 – 2026).

Timothy Devinney is Chair and Professor of International Business at Alliance Manchester Business School. He has held positions at U. Chicago, Vanderbilt, UCLA, Australian Graduate School of Management and the University of Leeds and been a visitor at many other universities across the globe. He has published 12+ books and 100+ articles in leading journals. He served as an editor and associate editor of a number of journals and book series and sits on the ERB of more than a dozen journals. He is a fellow of the Academy of Management (AOM), Academy of Social Sciences, the Royal Society of Arts, Academy of International Business (AIB), the European International Business Academy (EIBA), and an Alexander von Humboldt Research Awardee and Fellow. He has served on the executive of a number of academic associations (AOM, SMS, EIBA, ANZAM) as well as university, corporate and charity boards. He regularly consults with major corporations across the globe.

MODERATOR

Ursula F. Ott is Professor of International Business and the Director of the Centre for International Business Strategy and Decisions at Nottingham Business School. Her research interests comprise strategic and interactive decision making in international organisations, collaborative relationships across culture and international negotiations. Her publications appear as books and in leading journals (Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management Studies, Organization Studies, Journal of Business Research, International Business Review, SociologyInternational Negotiations etc). She has won international Prizes and Awards for the analysis of international negotiations with a game theoretical, experimental, and configurational approach. She is on the committee of the AIB Research Methods SIG and its Vice President for Finance.
