We are pleased to announce that the Dunning Centre for International Business<https://www.henley.ac.uk/research/centres/the-dunning-centre-for-international-business> will host the 9th IB Reading Conference 2024<https://www.henley.ac.uk/research/centres/the-dunning-centre-for-international-business/9th-reading-conference-2024>. The conference will take place at the Henley Business School, Whiteknights Campus, University of Reading, UK, from 12-13 April 2024.

The Conference main theme builds upon the following question: 'Can capitalism ever be inclusive and equitable, and can MNEs really help?'
This opening question will be addressed by the Journal of World Business 50th Anniversary Panel.

Over the two conference days we will follow the traditional Reading Conference approach of open-ended debates with an explicit focus on conceptual and theoretical developments. Our tradition is to bring together young and emerging scholars with more established thinkers within and outside our field. The debates will address the main conference theme from different angles (please, click here<https://www.henley.ac.uk/research/centres/the-dunning-centre-for-international-business/9th-reading-conference-2024#tab-45225958> for more info on debates and speakers):
1. Separating Propaganda from Fact: do MNEs really care about HRM?
2. Are MNEs a useful means to reimagine capitalism?
3. Reconciling the internal tensions within GVCs: sustainability versus survival for suppliers

We will also have competitive paper sessions in all areas of international business.
Submissions for the parallel sessions (at which papers on all aspects of IB are welcome), must be substantially of either complete papers or extended abstracts. For more information on submission guidelines, please click here<https://www.henley.ac.uk/research/centres/the-dunning-centre-for-international-business/9th-reading-conference-2024#tab-45225958>.
We are seeking to arrange various publication possibilities. Previous conference papers have been published in Journal of Management Studies, European Journal of Development Research Multinational Business Review, and Long Range Planning, etc.

Please mark these dates in your diary, which we assure you will be the highlight of your academic year. Our conferences are incredibly affordable, and some have said that - for the intellectual stimulation they provide - they are willing to pay three times as much!
