Job Title: Electric Fish Lab Colony Manager
Department: Department of Integrative Biology

Dr. Jason Gallant is seeking a diligent and well-organized student to manage a colony of weakly electric fish within the Department of Integrative Biology starting in December, 2023. This role encompasses a range of responsibilities including:

  *   Coordinating animal care and maintaining our specialized aquarium system
  *   Ordering and managing supplies
  *   Conducting regular feeding and cleaning routines
  *   Performing periodic water quality tests


Key Qualities:

  *   Dependability and strong organizational skills
  *   Effective communication skills
  *   Problem-solving ability
  *   Team-oriented with a willingness to work well with others
  *   Availability for periodic weekend shifts
Qualifications:

  *   A minimum GPA of 3.0
  *   Significant experience with aquatic animal care
  *   Strong interest in animal colony management
  *   Ability to learn and adhere to relevant regulations
  *   Willingness to commit 15-20 hours weekly


While this role is not research-focused, the colony manager will play a crucial part in our research team and is expected to attend weekly lab meetings. Starting pay is $15.00/hr. The position is available immediately and will remain open until filled.
