CAREER EXPO 2023 is almost here! Here is your to-do list to prepare for EXPO:

  1. Sign up for EXPO on Handshake.
  2. Review the attached Tips and Interview Instructions. (more resume and interview tips on the SIRC website)
  3. We are hosting four company info sessions (see company names attached) on Monday, October 16, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in N125. Register here.
  4. Professional Development Programs will be hosted on Tuesday, October 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Minskoff Multipurpose Room (across from Panera). Many great industry experts will be speaking about their experiences with sustainability in the hospitality industry. Presenter information is TBD.
    1. Session 1: 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
    2. Session 2: 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
    3. Session 3: 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  1. Upload your resume to the SIRC database: This is shared with recruiters throughout the year and after graduation. Important to keep current.
  2. Do research on companies you want to visit.
  3. Prepare your elevator pitch. (What is an elevator pitch?)

 

Your attendance at the Professional Development Programs, CAREER EXPO, and Interview Day will be recorded. Remember, attire for both days of CAREER EXPO is Business Professional.

 

Students will get free parking during EXPO and the interview day:

  • Parking: Complimentary parking is available in Lot 79 (325 West Shaw Lane).
  • Instructions: Enter your license plate number at the parking kiosk, select CAREER EXPO, enter 1 – Yes, I have a code (parking code: EXPO23).
