At the Center for Responsible Business and Leadership at CATÓLICA-LISBON, we are currently organizing a workshop targeting researchers in the area of sustainability, Business Strategy and Global Business. The event aims to share knowledge and ideas regarding the future of the SDGs in the private sector.

 This session will mainly bring discussion between researchers and scholars, aiming to promote the sharing of their research interests and main thoughts about Business and the Sustainable Development of Societies.

It will include the sharing of the Observatory of the SDGs in the Portuguese company’s database and main findings. In this sense, I would like to invite you to attend this workshop. We would like to invite you to participate in the SDG Meetings: Beyond the Data, organized by the Center for Responsible Business and Leadership at Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics (Universidade Católica Portuguesa). 

This event aims to discuss important insights on the crossroads between business operations and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We strongly believe your expertise and experience would be valuable to this discussion.

The event will take place on December 13^th, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics, in Design Studio (room 533). From 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, we will serve a light lunch and enjoy some networking moments. 

This meeting aims to provide a platform for researchers to (1) share their knowledge and ideas on the implementation of the SDGs in the business context and (2) create synergies between scholars. It won't focus only on presenting data or ongoing projects, but instead, to bring into debate theoretical and empirical ideas addressing topics such as the relationship between the SDGs, business operations and strategy; the SDGs' impact on corporate strategy and innovation; and the debate between ESG and SDGs, among other topics.

Additionally, the event will be a moment to share questions that emerged from the Observatório dos ODS nas empresas portuguesas (Observatory of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Portuguese companies), recently recognized by the United Nations as one of the 25 best practices in the world developed by academic institutions.  

The event will be opened by Professor Filipe Santos, Dean of CATÓLICA-LISBON, and further moderated by Professor João Cotter Salvado. It also features Filipa Pires de Almeida – Deputy Director of the Center for Responsible Business & Leadership, and Andreia Borges – Researcher at the Center for Responsible Business and Leadership, as well as other CATÓLICA-LISBON researchers.  

This meeting is an excellent opportunity for the academic community studying Sustainable Development to learn together and share valuable insights on the topic. This way, we hope to contribute to a more competitive and sustainable business sector and advance scientific knowledge in Sustainability topics.
