Dear all

The Journal of International Business Policy (JIBP) invites you to join our Professional Development Workshop (PDW) in Rabat, Morocco, as part of the conference program for the AIB MENA 2023 Conference on 10 December 2023. In this PDW, JIBP editors will discuss the emerging field of international business policy with the aim of collectively developing promising avenues for future research. We will provide pointers how to steer a policy turn in international business research and provide advice how to publish in the Journal of International Business Policy.

Who is This Event For?

The PDW is open to all scholars who want to engage in conducting policy-relevant research on international business issues. We particularly encourage participation by early career scholars who are unfamiliar with the publication process, from established scholars who want to conduct a policy turn in their international business research, and from scholars who are trained in disciplines less commonly associated with the field of international business (e.g., geography, political science or economics) but are interested in targeting international business journals.

How is This Event Structured?

The PDW uses an interactive format to discuss key questions regarding publications in JIBS. After the discussion, the editors will discuss the submitted papers, proposals, and research ideas in small groups.

How Can I Register for the Workshop?

Pre-registration for the JIBP PDW is required by 22 September 2023. Interested scholars should send an e-mail to [log in to unmask] with the following information: 1. Name, 2. Position, 3. Affiliation and 4. Policy-relevant international business paper, proposal, or idea you would like to discuss with JIBP editors at the conference. You may submit the same (or another) version of the paper for presentation at the AIB-MENA 2023 Conference. Submissions should follow JIBP guidelines.

Note that spaces are limited, so we encourage you to submit your interest before the deadline. Acceptance notifications will be sent out by 7 October 2023. All participants must be registered at the AIB-MENA 2023 Conference before confirming attendance at the JIBP PDW by 1 November 2023, which is the early-bird conference registration deadline. Participation at the JIBP PDW is free of charge.
