Presenters

Evelyn Reithofer is an Assistant Professor in International Business at WU Vienna University and driven by a strong interest in politics. Evelyn’s research focuses on elections, corporate political activities, political crisis events, and inequality. In 2023, Evelyn received the Peter J. Buckley and Mark Casson AIB Dissertation Award.

 Niina Nummela is a Professor in International Business at the University of Turku and currently serves also as the Vice Dean responsible for Education at the Turku School of Economics. Her areas of expertise include international entrepreneurship, integration in cross-border M&As and research methods, particularly the combination of qualitative and quantitative elements in a single study. She is an experienced PhD supervisor, altogether 29 students have completed their studies under her supervision. Additionally, she has been invited as a guest speaker to many PhD programs to talk about mixed methods research strategies.

Moderator

Hanna Gajewska-De Mattos is an Associate Professor in International Management and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She was the Chair of the AIB/Sheth Doctoral Consortium 2023 and she currently serves on the Governing Board of the AIB-CIBER Doctoral Academy. She is a Director of Postgraduate Research Studies at the Centre for International Business, University of Leeds (CIBUL) and the Nordic Research School of International Business (NORD-IB) representative for the University of Leeds. She received her PhD from the University of Leeds, funded by the European Union’s Phare ACE Scholarships Programme. Her research focuses on a conceptualization of cultural difference and in particular the human processes in intercultural interaction and intercultural communication as well as qualitative research methods. She published her work in top international journals and she received the 2018 Emerging Markets Inspiration Conference Distinguished Scholar Award from the Stockholm Business School. She previously worked in the European Commission in Directorate General for Research in Brussels and she was an independent expert evaluator on a number of framework programmes in the European Commission.
