Subject: Technician position Auburn University
The Hood lab at Auburn University is hiring a full-time technician to manage our wild-derived house mouse colony and copepod stocks. The technician will be responsible for training and overseeing undergraduate assistants, maintaining our breeding lineages, ensuring our animals are in excellent condition, maintaining our databases, picking up and ordering supplies, and minor cleaning and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have experience with wild rodents and/or lab mice (both are a huge plus), strong organizational, and strong leadership skills. We would love a technician who is fully engaged in our lab group. We have 3-years of NSF funding for this position. Pay starts at $35K. A BS in Biology or a related field is required, but preference will be given to those with an MS. We hope to have someone start by Aug 1.

This is an excellent position for a student with a BS/MS who is looking to take a few years off before continuing in academia or professional school. We offer a supportive environment in a great college town.

If you are interested, please send your CV and an introductory email describing your interest and qualifications to Dr. Wendy Hood at [log in to unmask] Review of applications will begin as they are received, so don't delay applying.
