The Executive Committee of Australia and New Zealand International Business Academy (ANZIBA) would like to announce a call for papers and reviewers for our 2024 conference - 'Sustainable International Business in Times of Disruption'. Papers and panel proposals on any International Business (IB) research topic, particularly those related to the conference theme, are welcome. The conference sessions will be preceded by a Doctoral Colloquium and an Early Career Scholars Consortium, both taking place 7th February. Paper and panel proposal submissions will open 10th July 2023 and close 2nd October 2023. Submissions for the Doctoral Colloquium and the Early Career Scholars Consortium will be accepted up to and including 6th November 2023. Submissions for both should be made via the ANZIBA conference website provided above.
If circumstances change such that a participant who has already paid the conference fee cannot attend for medical or travel-restriction reasons, the fees will be fully refunded, less AUD$10.00 to cover transaction fees. and

CONFERENCE HOST
The ANZIBA 2024 Conference will be hosted by the University of Canterbury Business School, Christchurch, New Zealand. The conference Chair is Dr Anna Earl<https://www.canterbury.ac.nz/business/contact-us/people/anna-earl.html>.

Professor Maria Raciti (Kalkadoon-Thaniquith/Bwgcolman) is a Director of the Indigenous and Transcultural Research Centre and co-leader of the education and economies theme in the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Indigenous Futures. She is a social marketer who uses marketing tools and techniques to bring about social justice and behaviour change. Professor Raciti is also a member of the executive of the Australian Association of Social Marketing and was part of an Australian Government departmental task force assisting with the 2019 National Regional Rural and Remote Tertiary Education Strategy. She is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK), is regularly engaged as an expert advisor, and has undertaken several large-scale research projects that have produced meaningful and impactful outcomes.

PRIZES AND TRAVEL SUPPORT
The executive committee of ANZIBA is pleased to offer eight Doctoral Travel Stipends. The stipends include a full conference fee waiver, plus up to AUD$1,000 reimbursement of accommodation and travel expenses related to the conference. They are open to any PhD student studying at an Australian or New Zealand university. We are also pleased to announce that the conference will involve three main awards:

*      The ANZIBA Best Paper Award selected from amongst all papers accepted for the competitive sessions of the conference



*      The Lawrence Welch Prize - Challenging the Status Quo, also selected from amongst all papers accepted for the competitive sessions of the conference



*      The Sid Gray Prize for the Most Promising Thesis Proposal selected from amongst all thesis proposals accepted for the doctoral colloquium
All three awards include an AUD$1,000 cash prize.

COMPETITIVE PAPERS
All competitive paper submissions need to include:

  *   A cover page including the title of the paper, the author(s) name(s) and affiliation(s), the lead author's email address, and a nominated track (number and name from the list above).
  *   The second page of the submission should include the title and an abstract not exceeding 200 words, followed by the body of the paper.

Papers should be double-spaced and not exceed 10,000 words. All submissions will be subject to a double-blind review process. By default, all accepted papers will be published online by ANZIBA but only accessible by conference attendees. If you do not want your paper published in this manner, please inform the Track (Co-)Chair at the time of acceptance.

PANEL PROPOSALS
Panel proposals must be submitted by the panel chair and include:
1.      A title page that includes the names and contact information for all participants and identifies their roles.

  1.  An abstract of 150-200 words that summarises the content of the panel discussion.
  2.  A 1-3-page description of the session format (e.g., paper presentations, round table, professional development workshop), with paper synopsis where appropriate.
  3.  Emails from each participant confirming their intended participation if the panel is accepted.
  4.  Panel proposals should be no more than 2,000 words, including all materials.
  5.  Each proposal must state, on its front page at the top right, the requested Track (number and title) and panel session format.
Panel proposals will be assessed by the respective Track (Co-)Chair(s).

DOCTORAL COLLOQUIUM SUBMISSIONS
The Doctoral Colloquium (DC) will comprise a panel session by academic mentors and discussions among participants and academic mentors regarding the student's DC proposal. A schedule of the events will be available latest one week before the conference.
All DC participants will receive copies of the proposals. All DC participants are expected to read every proposal and participate actively in the discussions.
To apply for the DC, students need to submit a summary of their proposal (maximum 5 pages, single spacing) with the following details and headings:
*       Doctoral candidate - name, email, university affiliation, PhD area/discipline, number of years in the PhD programme
*       Title of the thesis/proposal
*       Motivation for the research
*       Research question(s)
*       Literature review and overview of key concepts/theories
*       Methods/data/analysis approach
*       Potential contribution of the study

EARLY CAREER SCHOLARS CONSORTIUM APPLICATIONS
The Early Career Scholars Consortium (ECSC) is aimed at early career academics (up to eight years after earning a PhD and holding an academic position) who want to learn more about developing a successful and well-balanced academic career. Preliminary themes include balancing research, teaching and service/citizenship, engaging in collaborations, establishing and pursuing a rewarding research programme, seeking well-being and avoiding ill-being in academia. The consortium will provide an opportunity to network with peers and learn from experienced and highly successful academics.

Applications:
*       Submit a 1-page resume (PhD, job, research interests, courses taught, service roles you are engaged in) accompanied by 3-5 questions you have that are related to your career or academia in general.
*       Submissions should be made through the ANZIBA submission system.

REVIEWING
It is a condition of having a competitive paper or panel proposal considered for this conference that authors of papers and panel proposals review up to two other submissions. These will be assigned by the Track (Co-)Chair(s).
If competitive paper authors or panel members are willing to review additional papers or if DC participants, ECSC participants, and non-submitting members of our academic community are willing to review papers, please email the Conference Chair ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) directly.
