Hi Jim,
If you know of any recent grads that might be interested, the Student Conservation Association will have an intern working for our office next FY and this person will definitely gain skills that are in demand by consulting companies, government agencies (local, state, and fed), etc.
Thanks
Scott

Hi All,
Please help us get the word out that the Student Conservation Association is currently recruiting for a full time internship position here at MIFO (SCA is planning to send us applications August 15, so applications should be completed before that date). Ideally the intern would start full time in October (for a 1 year term), but we may be able to be flexible on start date if needed.

This position will be focused on helping others applying and developing conservation recommendations through project and recovery planning. The intern will gain gain experience with various aspects of implementing the U.S. Endangered Species Act. Participate in imperiled species habitat improvement projects or surveys. Assist others in identify best management practices to reduce potential impacts to listed species and further listed species recovery. Interact with conservation partners on their imperiled wildlife and plant survey efforts (e.g., imperiled butterflies and other pollinators, piping plover, mussel surveys etc.). Serve with conservation partners on endangered species habitat improvement projects (e.g., controlling invasive plants, improving nesting habitat for piping plovers, collecting native plant seeds, etc.).
