A major new report has been published by the Commonwealth Secretariat in their Trade Hot Topics series as Commonwealth Senior Trade Officials and Ministers from 56 countries across 6 continents gather in London on Enhancing Intra-Commonwealth Trade and Investment: An International Business Research Agenda authored by Peter Buckley, Jeremy Clegg, Sangeeta Khorana, Surender Munjal, Mayank Sewak; Mona Bahl and Arif Zaman. The paper was developed from a panel discussion at the AIB UK & Ireland Chapter Conference in April 2023 at the University of Glasgow convened by the Commonwealth Research Network on International Business (CRN-IB).
International business (IB), whether cross-border activities by multinational enterprises (MNEs) or non-equity forms of investment, and the international environment it operates in are heavily influenced by the historical legacies of countries and their international relations. This issue of Trade Hot Topics considers IB and the Commonwealth and international business policy and identifies three emerging research agendas for international business and the Commonwealth.
