Dear Friends of the AIB,
Tackling the root cause of slow progress towards Sustainability? The Mainstreaming Impact in International Business (MIIB) Initiative of the Academy of International
Business has one of the solutions and two new programs to deliver it. Please see
https://www.aib-uki.org/global-ib-development.htmlfor for details of the Call and links to register.
"Sustainable development" first defined by the Brundtland Commission (1987) entails extensive, global social changes through education. International Business (IB) education
is uniquely positioned to contribute to the Agenda 2030 by making sustainable principles explicit in the teaching of international business management and decision-making. Join our
Global IB Curriculum Development (program 1) to make it happen.
Unsustainability needs intervention at a global scale. What has worked? How to evaluate on-going cross-country efforts? What IB interventions can be put to strategic
use? Join our IB Intervention Research Alliance (program 2) to meet like-minded and brilliant scholars working at the cutting edge of IB and sustainable development.
The recent
AIB UKI Conference in Glasgow urges actions on SDG 8 "decent work and economic growth". For those who were there to witness the promise of IB research for sustainable development, you must have
been energised. This collaboration between MIIB and the AIB UK and Ireland Chapter is a direct outcome of this event. It will enable participants to join a core scholar group working on higher education sustainability impact. We look forward to welcoming you!
Kind regards,
Elizabeth
