Full Chapters Due: October 18, 2023
Submission Date: October 18, 2023

Introduction

The growing global skills gap and numerous labor market disruptions as reported by reputable institutions such as the World Economic Forum and McKinsey & Company have forced organizations of all sizes to reevaluate their needs in an era of hypercompetition. While higher education has traditionally been the cornerstone of personnel development to meet current and future skillset demands, corporate training has acted as an aid to address any gaps between academic instruction and organizational realities. However, recent research by bodies such as the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) suggests that human resources professionals continue to experience challenges finding applicants with the right skills and qualifications for a substantial number of available jobs. Deficiencies range from basic skills such as communications to applied skills like problem solving and collaborative thinking. The purpose of this publication is to examine the various requirements organizations must seek from current and future employees to effectively meet the demands of present-day global economic realities.

Objective

This publication will contribute new research to growing global challenges in the organizational world from the perspectives of the employer and employee alike to examine how to address these challenges effectively.

Target Audience

The primary target audience for this publication is scholar-practitioners who require the latest research on employer requirements of current and future personnel in an era of increasing global hypercompetition in the post-pandemic world. The secondary target audience is graduate students who need the same.
