There's still time to apply to be on HA clubs' executive boards! Application deadlines are all extended to Sunday, April 9 at 11:59 PM

Elections will be hosted on Thursday, April 13 between 5:00 and 9:30 PM in Room N103 in the Business College Complex. Candidates are expected to prepare a 2- to 3-minute speech for their election.

 
Hospitality Association (HA)

 
  • HA is the umbrella organization for 9 clubs and 3 events in The School of Hospitality Business. Our executive board members put on major-wide events such as HA Open House, HB Gala, and graduation celebrations and aid the operations of clubs and events.

Club Management Association of America (CMAA)
 
  • Are you interested in club management? CMAA is the right place for you! CMAA provides opportunities to learn about private club management through networking with industry leaders, touring various private clubs and participating in annual conferences. Next year, CMAA is going on its World Conference in Las Vegas!

Eta Sigma Delta (ESD)
 
  • ESD is the national honor society for Hospitality Business majors. Only top academic scholars in The School are eligible for membership. ESD encompasses over 60 chapters around the country with the intent to lead hospitality and tourism educators and professionals to the highest levels of professionalism and achievement.

Hospitality and Lodging Club (HLC)
 
  • HLC provides Hospitality Business students with opportunities to learn and experience all aspects of the Lodging sector of the industry. The executive board invites industry professionals to speak about various topics, allowing members to learn as well as network. Throughout the semester, HLC also holds various site visits to properties.

Meeting and Events Club (MEC)
 
  • MEC is focused on contributing to and fostering an understanding of the meeting and events industry. The club is committed to philanthropic, fundraising, and educational events within the community and the meeting and events field. MEC frequently hosts site visits and travels to PCMA’s national conference.

National Society of Minorities in Hospitality (NSMH) 

 
  • NSMH addresses diversity and multiculturalism, as well as the career development of student members. The club provides events and programs that bring together students with company sponsors, industry representatives, hospitality organizations, advisors, mentors, and hospitality high school students.

Real Estate Investment Club (REIC)
 
  • REIC promotes and supports the Real Estate minor within The School of Hospitality Business. REIC aims to bring together students who share a common interest in real estate. The organization offers networking opportunities with industry leaders, site tours, and educational workshops.

Spartan Business Golf Club (SBGC)
 
  • SBGC is a new club in HA and is open to everyone interested in the business of golf! The club hosts outings to clubs and golf courses, as well as collaborations with other clubs.

Spartan Beverage Society (SBS)
 
  • SBS strives to create an educational setting for students to develop wine appreciation and knowledge. Whether members seek a career in the beverage industry or are personally interested in wine, SBS equips every member with the tools to pursue their aspirations in a supportive setting.

Society for Hospitality and Foodservice Management  (SHFM)
 
  • SHFM promotes non-commercial foodservice knowledge and contacts through discussion, publications, speakers and meetings. SHFM also organizes tours of foodservice facilities throughout Michigan and surrounding states courtesy of various industry partners and MSU Alumni.
