OPEN POSITION: Assistant/Associate Professor (Tenure Track) in International Business

We are now inviting applications for a Tenure track position in International Business.
The position offers an excellent opportunity to build a versatile academic career as a part of our internationally renowned and innovative community. The position will be filled either as a fixed-term Assistant Professor  or  Associate Professor position within the Tenure track system.

The position holder will also benefit from project cooperation with the University's multidisciplinary research platforms<https://www.uwasa.fi/en/research/research-platforms> in the areas  of sustainable development, innovation and digital economy.
Job description and requirements
The field of the position is international business. In the subject, the research and teaching focuses on: firms’ internationalization, foreign direct investments, international marketing strategies, and sustainable international business. We are looking for a person with the level of qualification of an Assistant Professor or an Associate Professor to strengthen the research and education expertise of the School.  It is considered beneficial, if an applicant has research and/or teaching experience from some of the following themes:

  *   International ownership modes (joint venture or wholly owned subsidiary) and establishment modes (acquisition or greenfield), and determinants of foreign divestment.
  *   Planning and management of global value chains of MNCs.
  *   Planning and management of responsible and sustainable global business considering institutional and cultural differences.
The Tenure track position is research-oriented, but also includes teaching, thesis supervision, seeking external funding for research projects and university administrative tasks. The teaching and supervision of the position is intended to support the international business studies in the Bachelor's Programme in Business Studies<https://www.uwasa.fi/fi/koulutus/kandidaattiohjelmat/kauppatieteiden-kandidaattiohjelma>, the Master's Programme in International Business<https://www.uwasa.fi/en/education/international-masters-programmes/international-business>, and the University of Vaasa Doctoral Programme<https://www.uwasa.fi/en/education/doctoral-education>.
Applicants are required to have an appropriate Doctoral Degree together with excellent academic merits, evidence of the potential to produce high-quality research, as well as evidence or the potential to produce high-quality teaching. Salary and benefits

The salary is based on the Finnish University Salary System (YPJ) and  is subject to regular reviews. The annual starting salary including holiday bonuses is approximately,

  *   Assistant professor:  €48,800 - € 52,800
  *   Associate professor: €56,300 - € 60,900
Each University of Vaasa employee automatically belongs to a pension scheme and the majority part of the pension contributions is paid by the employer.
