PANELISTS

Pankaj Kumar is Assistant Professor in Management at the Pamplin College of Business, Virginia Tech. He earned a PhD from the University of Minnesota. His research interests lie at the intersection of strategy and organization theory, with a focus on innovation, interfirm relationships and networks, crowdsourcing, economic geography, emerging markets, big data, and machine learning. His research has been published in leading journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, and Strategic Management Journal.

Katherine Tatarinov is Postdoctoral Scholar and Research Director of the Center for Innovation & Partnerships at the Geneva School for Economics and Management at the University of Geneva. Her research focuses on social innovation, digital transformation and managing the grand challenges. Katherine lectures at Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL) and is the Managing Director of the Geneva Innovation Movement Association, where she translates her research findings into applicable insights and community building.

Shilpa Madan is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Virginia Tech. Prior to this, she was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Columbia Business School, New York. Shilpa aspires to use consumer behavior research to help people live better, more fulfilling, and more sustainable lives. Shilpa’s work has implications for public policy, sustainable living, and consumer well-being. Her research has been published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Journal of International Business Studies, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Psychological Science, Journal of Consumer Psychology, and Journal of Experimental Psychology: General, among others.

MODERATORS

Keith D. Brouthers is Professor of Business Strategy at King’s Business School, King’s College London and a Fellow of the Academy of International Business.  Keith specializes in international strategic management and is the recipient of the JIBS Decade Award (2012) as well as a JIBS 50-year anniversary research scholarship award (2019). His current research interests include entry and establishment mode choice, export channel selection, and the digital economy.  Keith’s research has been published in leading academic journals including Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management Studies, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice.

Klaus Meyer is a Professor of International Business and William G. Davis Chair in International Trade at Ivey Business School, London, Ontario, Canada. He is a leading scholar in international business, focusing on the strategies and operations of multinational enterprises in and from emerging economies. He is a Fellow of the Academy of International Business (AIB), and in 2015 he received the Decade award of the Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS). From 2016 to 2022, he served as an area editor of JIBS. He has published over 90 articles in leading scholarly journals, in particular in Journal of International Business Studies, Strategic Management Journal and Journal of Management Studies.
