We are recruiting research assistants to help with lake-wide surveys of anglers around Lakes Ontario and Erie for a Great Lakes Fisheries Commission funded project on fishing for more than fun. This project is led by myself at Carleton University (Canada) and Dr. Leandro Castello, Virginia Tech (US). We are interested in understanding the importance of recreational fisheries in the Great Lakes for services beyond fun including food, nutrition, economic security, sense of place, and socio-cultural importance. RAs do not need prior experience, and training will be provided. We are looking for a commitment of 1-2 weeks per season (with flexible hours)for full year to capture all fishing seasons. Must be able to drive to sampling sites and access to a vehicle is not necessary but preferred. Please see attached for more information and feel free to distribute to your networks.
